The University of Music in Detmold and Internationale Posaunenvereinigung are organizing the IV. Music School Forum Trombone with spiritual assistance of Association of Music Schools of Germany.
Main connecting thread of this project is the improvement of instrumental lessons in subject of trombone at music schools in interchange with teaching staff of univerisities of music in Europe.
Standing on top are:
- New lesson methods for instruction of beginners and adults and the expectation towards applicants of studies.
- Lectures and informations will show new lesson techniques for beginners and instrumental methods. The todays themes about the Yamaha compact trombone or the alto trombone as an instrument for beginning childs will get discussed.
- At the same time some professors will show their opinion about the lessons of beginners and their expectation towards beginners of studies and young students. This will get discussed.
- The integration of instrumental lessons in brass classes at public schools will be treated.
New positions of knowledge in teaching methodology
- Kristian Steenstrup (Professor of Trumpet, Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus, Dänemark) will introduce his book „Teaching Brass“ which goes for the most funded scientific book in brass didactics.
- The new teaching curriculum of Association of Music Schools in Germany will be introduced and discussed.
Lessons with new media – possibilities and prospects
- Main thread is the competence in media which is necessary in usual and especially in new media and the integration in the instrumental lessons. The software „SmartMusic“ will get intrduced , demonstrated and used in various workshops.
Practical body knowledge in kind of Institut of Lichtenberg

- „A very extended understanding of the relations between our sensoric nervous system and musical sound leads to a new approach in vocal and instrumental teaching theory“. This is the approach of body experience which shall be transferred to instrumental playing through singing in functional kind. There will be lectures in theory and classes in practice.

- Concert of childrens in subject area of conveyance of music
